Notarial services are offered by appointment only at the Australia High Commission in Mauritius. Please bring your valid passport or ID card and the original documents to the appointment.

Passports
All passport applications must be lodged in person at the Australian High Commission. All passport applications lodged outside of Australia will incur an additional processing fee.
Inability to lodge in person
A temporary provision to mail in applications is in place for certain categories of passport applicants in Madagascar, Seychelles, Comoros and Reunion island. Contact us on [email protected] for further advice on your eligibility to access this service.
Lodging your application in person
You will need an appointment to lodge your Australian passport application (call +230 202 0160 or email [email protected]):
- Applications may be lodged between 8:30 to 15:00 Monday to Friday
- Child applications should be lodged in person by a parent or person with parental responsibility for the child. The parent or person lodging the application is not required to be an Australian citizen, but will need to bring photographic proof of their own identity to the appointment. Children do not have to attend the lodgement interview.
- 16- and 17-year-old applicants are issued with ten-year validity passports. These applicants must be accompanied by a person with parental responsibility to lodge their application in person (mail and courier applications are unable to be accepted).
To apply for a passport:
- Complete your form online at www.passports.gov.au
- Print the completed application form, sign within the signature box and date
- Obtain two passport photos (see photo requirements)
- Contact us to lodge your application by appointment. Bring your signed form, photos, fee payment, most recently issued passport and any other necessary original documentation (as listed on the application form) to your appointment.
You should allow at least 6 weeks from lodgement of your complete application for your passport to be processed. In some cases, it may take longer due to delivery delays.
